Why do we need Postgres or RDS?

We use Postgres as a backing store for the deployment manager state and the catalog's backend. In AWS, this could be RDS.

Prior to v1.4.1, Okera used Postgres as a backing store for the deployment manager state and the catalog's backend. In AWS, this could be a remote database server (RDS).

From v1.4.1 onward, Okera uses a remote database server (RDS) to store the catalog and cluster related information. The requirement for a deployment manager has been removed. For information on setting up your RDS, check the Okera documentation.
